A doctoral dissertation submitted by the student Amina Nayef Shaker was discussed in the Department of Plant Protection, College of Agriculture, Tikrit University, entitled:
“Isolation and Identification of Streptomyces Species from Soil and Evaluation of Their Efficiency in Integrated Control of Parasitic Insects on the Edible Mushroom Pleurotus spp.”
The discussion was held on the morning of Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the hall of the late Dr. Ramadan Ahmed Al-Taif, in the presence of a specialized scientific committee that included a distinguished group of professors from Tikrit and Samarra Universities.
The dissertation examined the vital role of Streptomyces bacteria in biological control and their potential use as a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to reduce insect infestations affecting edible mushrooms, contributing to the development of sustainable agricultural production methods.
The examination committee commended the scientific level of the dissertation and the significance of its applied results and decided to accept it after fulfilling the scientific requirements, wishing the student continued success in her academic and research career.
